I have a late 60's to early 70's 13' sport that's stripped of the stock interior. Motor is a 1981 Evinrude 25hp tiller steer. The prop is in bad shape it needs a new one...

1. Can anyone recommend a good source for a new one and how to figure out the correct size & style? Any options for more low end or top end speed when doing so?
2. I've never replaced a prop before but pretty handy. Just been a while since I've worked on anything. While replacing the prop is there anything else I should do or anything that needs to be replaced each time the prop comes off?

After this I'm leaning on trying a hydrofoil. The boat gets off plane pretty easy at low speeds and I would like to be able to cruise slower at time. Think this should help?

The consensus is 10x13. Expect a WOT speed of ~30 mph running solo and light.

Keep any washers, cotter pin, nut ect and get replacements.

Most of the prop shops I know are on the East Coast. Anybody?

Does anyone know how to get the prop off this motor? I took the cone off but not sure if I need to pound it off with a mallet or what. Definitely some corrosion on the spline.

You can try a mallet hitting a 2X4, but if there is corrosion, you will probably need a prop puller which works pretty much like a automotive pulley or steering wheel puller.

Just wanted to say that I purchased a 6" fly wheel puller, here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06...&psc=1 and then took the three arms off. I then got three lengths of chain, 10 links each and made loops connecting them to the arms of the puller. Wrapped the chain around each blade and started to tighten. A few taps on the center spindle and then the blade did the trick! It came off nice and smooth without any undo force. The spindle was corroded but not much, it cleaned up and a new factory prop is on its way. Thanks for the puller idea.
