just bought a 1991 13 gls with 1993 Yamaha 40 hp 2 stroke. trim works fine on trailer and low speed. can't trim out at high speed. have to trim and take off then back off throttle trim more to get correct trim. I don't pull tubers or skiers just want speed. also suggestion for prop pitch?? thx

Check the fluid level in the reservoir.
If it gurgles when cycling, you have air in the system. You need to bleed it.
A Yamaha painted stainless steel prop in the size 10.5 x 13",Part # MARGYT3B0313.
Lightly loaded, rigged 2 holes up, wide open throttle of 5500 will get you 34-35 mph.
If you select a different make and model, the size will be totally different.

As per your other thread that was started, I assume that you figured out that the motor likely only has a tilt pump and was not designed to trim the engine at speed.
