Hi Everyone-
I am seeking a little guidance. I own a 1978 V20 Outrage that I am considering selling but am not really sure what a reasonable asking price might be. The boat is in pretty good shape overall (some gel-coat work is in order), powered by a 2001 Honda 130hp and is on a 2001 EZ-Loader tandem axle trailer. It doesn't have any fancy electronics on it just a standard marine radio. It has two 12V batteries and was fitted with a new fuel tank about 6 years ago. It also has a sunbrella cover for both the center console and entire boat (including engine).
Thanks a million for any and all input-
Kraig

"nice boat" we're all thinking.... "wonder what he would take for it?"
I won't hazard a guess, sorry, but I hope others will jump in. Best wishes with it.

Kraig,
Figuring the value of a boat is not a given science. Kelly Blue Book & NADA will give you a guide, based on the age, conditional, and how it is equipped. What gets lost in calculating the value is the demand for a particular make and model. Whalers maintain their value very well, especially if in good condition. Use Kelly or NADA to establish a baseline price. Then check prices of same or similar models listed for sale at BoatTrader.com and/or IBoats.com, if they are there. Factor in anything unique or special about your particular boat. As a suggestion, a boat is worth what an individual is willing to pay for it. So, I would price it at the high end of what you finally decide it's worth. I bought my 1979 22' Outrage with 235 Johnson in September 1979 and paid about $14000.00 including trailer, canvas, and accessories. I sold it in May 1988 for the same price. Good luck!

I'll guess $13,000. It's hard to say without seeing it.
Wait until next spring and you might get $15,000 or more.
By the way, I'm no expert. I do have a V20 though.
