Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: 13ft vs. 11ft Whaler

I have had several 13ft Whalers, and loved them. I have recently been on the search of another. I ran across a great 11ft. Whaler, but scared it may be to small for 2 adults, and a 10 year old. Any input on this would be great. Do I need to keep looking for a 13 footer, or would a cool 11 footer be ok. The 11 footer has a 20 horse Johnson on it, where all of my 13 footers had 40's or 50's. Somebody help me make up my mind....LOL. Thanks much in advance

skipjack,

It is very hard to beat the stability of the boat that started it all.... the 13'.....

A 13' with a 35hp or 40 hp can go just about anywhere and do just about anything.....

Here is a photo of my prior 13' with an Evinrude 35hp on it....

Now you have my opinion.... :)

I would rather have another 13, but the 11 fit my pocket better at the current time. Maybe I just need to wait a little longer, and save up. Putting all new windows in the house, and custom cabinets in the wifes kitchen, has put a dent in the wallet, and I'm one of those who like to pay cash, instead of borrowing. Anyone got a 13 footer for around 4000.00 ??? HELP !!!!

I've been searching locally for another motor and see 13's like this listed fairly often http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/boa/...66395.html (I have no affiliation to this boat, just post it as an example, plus MA and AL aren't right next to each other....). They're out there, keep looking and something will turn up.

"Hold On" for the 13', it's a much better boat, safer for the passangers too, I've been in the 11' it's pretty cramped compared to the 13'. very rough ride as well, It's really designed as a "Tender".

Here is mine that I am selling for $3800 obo. I am in Savannah, Georgia, email stingraze@mindspring.com for questions. It is in very good condition, and I am selling only because I found an 18 Outrage.
