Hi everyone,

Im looking at a used 1996 mariner 40hp 2 stroke (20 inch shaft, im going to have to do something to the transom, any recommendations??) and I was wondering if anyone had a link to the manual or experience with this outboard?

It would go on a 13 foot sport I am working to restore...didnt want to shell out all sorts of cash for a new motor, but I also dont want something that will cost me thousands in maintenance and repair bills.

Thanks again for any input on this motor or transoms recommendations! Its hard to find used short shafts...
