I was wondering what I should ask for my boat if I put it up for sale. For those of you who seen it at Torch Lake (Dave,Jeff, etc), I'd especially appreciate your opinion. I'm really at a loss for what to ask. The motor is a 1979 Johnson 100 HP which runs fine but certainly impacts the boats value. The motor which has never been overhauled had a compression check this spring and tested within 5-10 lbs of new. The hull and interior are exceptional for even a much newer boat. The teak has never been touched and bleached from the sun but has no dings or dents. The boat has never been in salt water. I would appreciate any feedback and have pictures but don't know how to make them available on this website.

Rich,
Your boat is a solid one and all of the parts and pieces are there and in pretty good condition. Really the boat needs a good wet sanding and polish, new cushions, and a refinishing of the teak and the boat will be in very nice condition.
The area of concern in most buyers would be the motor. Freshwater motors are known to have a long life but, still most do not trust an older motor. Especially those who only know salt water. If someone bought the boat and wanted to repower they would be looking at $500 - $750 for it on trade in for a new motor. My dealer offered me maybe $700 for it if I repowered with a new E-Tec.
