Hello,
After buying my rage jet 15 the engine fried due a cooling hoose which was not proparly attached by the dealer. They had the engine reworked and now it runs like a champ! No problems at all and i'm very pleased with the overal handling and fuel consumption off the boat. The only thing I find is that it hasn't enough power for my use, when at planing I want to make I fast turn it comes out of planing (offcourse) but getting it into planing again takes awhile with 3 people on board.
So the question is: Do you guys know if there's a different engine which will fit right away (bolt holes spindle shaft and so on) with more horse power? I'am looking at atleast 175 hp v4 of v6. Maby when necessary I will change the jet pump.
I have also been looking at this:
Opti Max Jet engine but I have no idea if it will fit???
I have been looking at a 175 mercury rage but since I live in the Netherlands it's not so easy to find. And importing a boat from the U.S is a little bit risky.
Many thanks for your help.
Twan

perhaps changing the prop is all that is needed. different angles do different things. i had a jet ski with different props. depending on what i wanted (top end, out-of-the-hole, etc. ), i just changed props. just my 2 cents. mike

i have a 14' POLK flatbottom duck boat with a 50 yamaha pro with a jet pump on it. there too is a propeller. it's housed inside. it's what does the sucking into and pushing out of the housing. mike
