Well I narrowed down a search for this topic to about 6000 threads:)

Im running a 14.5 x 15, 3-blade on my new 150 Etec on a 1989 18' Outrage, taken off old Ficht.
Thinking of going to a 4 Blade. I also turn a few 100rpm at the top end more than I should.
Hale Propeller recommends a 3-blade 15 x 16, or a 4-blade 15 x 15.
Anyone have personal specs on what they are using?

Thanks,
PC

I am running a 14 3/4x17 Stainless Viper on my 1983 Outrage 18 with same motor mounted all the way up. Tops out around 5600-5700 RPM and overall it has been a good combo.

Kahuna, how are you using the boat? Do you care about top speed, acceleration, grip in rough water, performance with heavy load? I ask because being slightly underpropped, like you are now, might be good for some applications, like skiing. Also, how high is your motor mounted?

Tim,
I use the boat in Abaco for daily running around with two to six people. I fish the boat extensively,
trolling 6-9kts. Currently have to run rpm's a little higher than I want for troll speed and propping could
change this. Also, I would like to run a prop that is efficient and appropriate for WOT. That said, at approx
$4/gal, I dont race around to every destination :)
As far as the height goes, from memory, it is bolted about an inch higher on the transom than the brackets
would rest on. Thanks

Motor Mounting Height terminology everyone can relate to and understand.

Tim asks a vital question, running with 6 people and gear is significant weight compared to 2.

The Hale recommendations sound wrong.

I concur with Ed's prop choice and Tom Clark (prop guru) has suggested the 14-3/4" x 19" BRP Viper.

If you run 4 or more persons a majority of the time I would consider the BRP viper in 15".

You should raise the motor up 2 or 3 holes.

Joe, thank you for the height info link.
Tim, your recommendation for the 15" Viper, is that diameter?
Any input on 4 Blade? I appreciate all the feedback.

I like the Stiletto, 14 1/4" x 17", up three holes.
