I just picked up a Dauntless 17 1997 and it does not have a prop. I called Whaler and they were not able to recommend a size for me. I wanted to get some input from others on their prop size so I have an idea of where to start.

Need prop for
1997 Dauntless 17 DC
Mercury 125 outboard

Cut and pasted recommendation from Larry (Finnagan) who knows Mercury motors.

22" Merc Laser II or High Five. Speeds will be about 48 MPH, and engine should be mounted in the 3rd holes

This is a 2+2 motor. It uses 2 cylinders at idle and low speed, then changes to 4 at mid range rpms. It is not very popular from member comments.
