Hello ,
I am at a loss . I have been running my V 22 1979 Outrage with in floor tank this season and cant figure out why I loose power over wake . I have run Yamaha Conditioner and fuel conditioner thru the engines checked the pumps changed the external fuel filter ( found junk in it ) . Still doing it . The tank was replaced with new one and all hoses about 6 years ago . i drain the tank every year ? The rest of the time the engine runs Great ??

probably something simple ... I hope ?

Any ideas ??

This is what happens in more detail ..

2000 Yamaha 225 OX recently developed an issue when running in wavy sea conditions. If the motor is running at moderate speed or more and we run into wavy conditions (such as heavy boat traffic or windy conditions), the motor will feel like it throttles back temporarily (a second or two) then comes back to regular rpms. It doesn't cut out, just feels like it throttles back momentarily. Does not happen in calm conditions or if going slowly. Any advise/thoughts ?

thank you ,Bob

Hi Bob: You are probably experiencing propeller slippage or propeller spin out. The conditions you describe are common in rolling seas or wakes. Just throttle back when going over a heavy wake or series of big waves.

Out of curiosity, what height is the motor mounted?
