Motor and boat was sitting for 15 years then I came along ( lucky me ) lol I rebuild the fuel pump carbs and water pump and got her running but now she is running hot I am going to change the thermostat and try to stick the hose in the thermostat hole to flush it out but Is there any additive you can add to flush the water jacket out ?

Is there a steady teltail stream of water? Did you change the water pump? Was the old one missing parts? Sometime just changing the pump impeller isn't enough because the impeller housing gets worn and it can't build enough pressure so the whole housing needs to be replaced. If there's a steady strong stream of teltail water then I would suspect the thermostat.

Additionally, if the engine was used in salt water you can flush it with CRC Salt Eliminator. Follow the directions and let it sit for an hour then flush with plenty of fresh water. They say vinegar works as well but the CRC setup has a nifty little hose adaptor that makes it really easy and you can use it every time you flush the motor.
