The SS Prop. on my Outrage gave up on o recent trip to the British Virgin Islands from Puerto Rico. Even though I will repair my prop. I would like to hear from other Outrage and Montauk owners. Aluminum os SS Size and Pitch choices. Please advise which could be the best fit for Waterskiing and cruising. I like to Slalom so reaching a top speed of 36-39 mph is important for me. Thank You in advance for your recommendations.

Regards

Ignacio

You don't say what brand or size of propeller you have now.

I believe your F100 is the same as a F90 sold in the US. The difference being how the motor hp is rated.

I had good experience with Yamaha K series painted stainless steel props on my Yamaha 90 2 stroke and the F115 on my 1991 Outrage 17.

To meet your needs you should have two props, one for waterskiing (13.25 x 17) and the other for cruising (13.25x19).

These sizes are only for the Yamaha stainless K series. This is assuming the motor is mounted two or even 3 holes up.

Thanks Phil

I will check size and make and post it. I check with the Yamaha Dealer and Yes it is the same prop as the F90 and F115. Thanks for your input. Once I have the info I will share it thanks.

Sincerely

Ignacio

Ignacio,

Just curious, but what do you mean when you say your prop "gave up", and what is the brand/model of prop?

The bushing started slipping when RPM s were beyond 2500. On idle the boat moved well at 7-8 mph by gps. So i got back home with no mayor issues. I already called the a local Shop they can replace the bushing for $100. Im considering purchasing a second prop. and fixing my ss prop. , to have a spare on board for the future.

Repairing your prop should last a long time except if you hit something with it then a spare prop will be very helpful.

The damage Prop is a SS Power Tech number RAF 3R 17 RVT 145
looks like the pitch is 17". Would I be better off with a 19" or should I go with 15". Thank for sharing your thoughts.

The optimum prop allows the motor to reach the top part of the wide-open-throttle (WOT) rpm's when the boat has a light load and single pilot.

Before we give advice, a few questions:

Is the motor still mounted at it's lowest level as shown in the photo bucket picture. The optimum height is 2 holes up. This means the bolts are in the third hole counting down from the top.

Do you know what was the top RPM and speed reached with the existing prop while the boat was lightly loaded?
