1978 13 sport, 20 inch transom. Both of these would be tiller, honda has power trim.
25 weight 111. Pull start
30 weight 160. elec start t+t
2 or 3 normal weight adults or 2 teenagers, mostly cruising or fishing. I have my own list of pros and cons just looking for opinions and if anyone has experience with the honda df30 on a 13. Any performance info appreciated. Have to make a decision soon so if you have any info or input please respond.
Thanks and hope to see the South Alabama group soon as resto finished.

An extra 59 pounds on the back may seem like a lot and it may be a lot. On my 1981 13 Sport is a 2008 30HP Mercury four stroke t+t. I don't know it's weight but I'm pleased with the performance. It goes as fast as I want to go in such a small boat.
I would tend to select the Honda unless advised otherwise by someone with more experience. Two main factors would be in play for me. First the t+t is very useful and second, I suspect the Honda would be more reliable. Other less important factors are the noise, exhaust smell, adding oil to the fuel, etc.

I have a 25 Yammi 2-stroke autolube tiller on my
1978 13". It´s enough power for fishing with 2-3 adults. Sometimes we also use for wakeboarding.

Thanks for the input. I am going to go with the 25 yammy for now. The 30 Honda would be great but I was planning on converting it from tiller to remote after this season but there is no oem conversion kit. Also with the seat moved back some for tiller operation weight is really a factor.

Well kids took the boat out for the first time today. combined weight of about 340 lbs. They topped out at 29 mph with the 25 Yamaha with both on rear seat and 26 mph with 160 lbs sitting in bow and the rest of the weight on rear seat. Very pleased.
