I haven't been around much lately but I have used the 17' Outrage I a fair amount this year. I am still thrilled with the performance and economy of the BF90 (2013 vintage). It will achieve 40 MPH with me and all my fishing gear in the boat. With my wife, daughter and two dogs I'm getting 37MPH. This is with the stock 17 pitch Honda branded aluminum prop.
One other interesting thing, due to my lack of diligence I left my vhf and battery switch on and it killed the battery. I didn't realize it was dead until I drove an hour to my fishing spot. I then read the manual section on emergency starting of the motor which was straight forward. Five pulls with the emergency starter rope and away I went. Its nice to know that the motor can be pull started with a dead battery in an emergency. I don't know if that is possible with all modern EFI outboards or not.

Agree on the pull start.
When I first purchased my boat this year, I practiced rope starting the motor in the drive way. Gives me confidence I can do it in a pinch for real :-)

It is a great feature for peace of mind, and more so when you're in a tight spot and really need it. I'm not sure if it's possible on other EFI engines either, but all of the E-tec line (which is a DI engine) can be rope started and run even without a battery installed. Here's a short video of a V6 being started, at the beginning of the video you can see the positive terminal of the cable from the battery is disconnected.
