i have 1978 35hp johnson, when slowing down it ramdomly reves out around the Throttle area of high speed of nutrule , has done a few times . my mechanic doesn’t have a explanation. One time it closed the gap on spark plug. When it is running it is very smoth , does not knock or seem like and rod or bearing problems, I do have L77JC4 (current recommended) plugs in, I read on line original L78V surface plugs were used. Any clue how to figure what is causing high revving in the low midrange? I have traced and lubed the linkage don’t see any spots not working smoothly. thanks
