Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Serial Number for a restored 1966 13' classic

After reading a prior post concerning the location of a serial number, I became a little curious. We are at the tail end of a 1966 Classic 13' restoration. We've gel coated the interior of the boat and the original serial number has been removed. My question is this; should I simply repaint the serial number over the new gel coat? If so, will a simple piss can of rustolium type paint be good enough to withstand the elements and time?

Thank you very much.

Cliff

I'll give you some touch up paint when you pick it up you dingbat, you can use that along with a stencil.

Dingbat here!! I know what the serial number is......even us Texans know what a serial number is! John's working on my whaler. Hey John, why aren't you working on that boat man? Since the deadline is just around the corner, one would think you wouldn't have much time jackin' around on the internet!! LOL...... I think you're scared that when you, Tim and I race, I will be smokin' past you guys......like a lightening bolt.

Don't forget I'm the one rigging your boat and I'm rigging it to lose you dingbat.

Hey Dan, yes I did paint the bottom and as you can tell I'm in the middle of rigging it for the dingbat.:D

I'll post pics soon, I don't want the dingbat to think I'm playing around.

You don't sweat sitting behind a desk.:D Just bring the trailer, battery and some cash or you'll need some oars to move this 13.
