Does anyone know the original Lb density foam used on whalers....i've found 2, 3, 4, 8 and 16 lb densitys and don't know what would be overkill or not...Thanks guys by the way the website i'm looking at for the foam is www.uscomposites.com located in West Palm....they have some pretty good stuff like kevlar and all other exotic fibers B)

Tom would know.... I seem to recall it was 4 lb. Not sure.
I agree, that supplier seems to have pretty good prices, compared to others.

I used foam from
http://www.jgreer.com. it was less than other foam i found. the owner said it would be perfect for refoaming a couple 2'x2' holes in my old whaler.
I knew at one point the density of it, but have since forgotten. i've foamed and glassed in my holes, and it is more than solid.
Be careful when measuring the amounts, a little too much and you'll have another problem, its real powerful stuff. i used alittle too much and it popped the screws holding my plywood subfloor and bowed the wood so much i feared it was going to shatter... i always seem to learn the hard and or expensive way.
hope this helps.
