I have a small dripping water leak coming from the area where the power head attaches to the middle action of the leg.

I think the powerhead must be lifted off the motor to change the gasket, but in the meantime will that effect anything????

Can I put something there to stop the leak, it is not under pressure it just drips?

In the absence of a thermostatically controlled system (like the Tohatsu for example), the only way the water would be too hot is if the water pump was not pumping sufficient water. Have you serviced the water pump recently? Has the engine been used in salt water? If so have you decalcified it recently?

If it were me long term I'd want to replace the gasket. I don't think it would be that big of a job on that size engine. I'd back my boat into garage and use chain hoist to lift the power head off the lower part of the engine after unbolting it.

Also I apologize for posting answers to your other post about the water temp here. Did that by accident...

Don't worry, "I understand" I do that from time to time also
