Hello all, I have a 2001 boston whaler conquest 28 with twin Yamaha 250 EFI ox66 2 stroke engines. I am repowering with twin 2005 mercury verado 250. The boat is 30'8" LOA, 10'4" beam, and 8400 pound dry weight without engines.

Looking for some info on what props to run. (brand, diameter, and pitch) Looking for a combination of top speed and fuel efficiency.

Also any other info on this repower.

Kris

Tom Clark is the guy that I found really understands props. If he doesn't chime in I would suggest sending him a personal message. I hope this doesn't upset anyone. If it does mia copa, mia copa.

Yes, it is much better to share information here so others in the future can benefit.

Members send me email frequently asking me questions but I refer them back to this site to ask questions for the same reason I gave above.
I believe the other moderators feel the same way and refer members back to this site to ask questions.

Otherwise we should just shut our doors and let people try and find the information somewhere else on the net.

Try a pair of 14-5/8" x 17" Revolution4s or 14-1/4" x 18" Enertias.

If cruise speed fuel economy is your primary goal, try a pair of 15-1/2" x 17" MIRAGEpluss or see if you can order a set of the new Enertia ECOs (though I do not believe they are on the market yet).

Thanks for the reply. Though new Ecos are only available in 19" pitch and above.

19" will be too much pitch.

Mercury states that their only propeller that you get the best of both worlds (top end speed and hole shot) is the enertia Is that true.

Tom, how come you recommend a 17" for revolution4s and an 18" Enertia. Why the 2 different pitches. Does it have to do with the different designs of the props.

Also, what does a larger or smaller diameter affect.

Thanks

Kris

The Rev 4s will yield about 7 percent calculated propeller slip, the Enertias will yield about 10 percent slip.

The Enertias will also have a slightly higher top speed.

Don't concern yourself with the diameter; the Revolution 4 and Enertia are completely different propellers with different blade geometry.
