I'm painting a badly worn 1990 Evinrude 90TLES and have not been able to determine if the original color is dark blue or black. Everything I read says blue, but it sure looks black. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...

Tom,

I don't think Evinrude ever used black.
To be certain, I would talk to your local dealer and they will tell you the exact color and give you a part number for the paint.

BRP has a parts catalog feature on the Evinrude and Johnson sites. They provide exploded views of most motors and part numbers for most things including paint and decals. www.evinrude.com

Thanks for your help. I also didn't think Evinrude ever used black, but this one sure fooled me.
