Have an 87 whaler outrage. Motor had the steering unfrozen at the end of last year. Now it has limited turning on one side but swings freely to the other. The tech at the boatyard says it must be the steering box and it needs to be replaced. Is this a pretty straightforward job? I will do it myself if it is.

Thanks. I will confirm steering type. I believe it is dual cable as there are 2 cables plugged in to one side. Ispoke with Sue at Twin Cities and she said the part I am looking for is a Teleflex SS137 and I need 15.5 feet of cable.
