If you use the search feature, you will find several owners discussing re-power options for the Outrage 17 I (1990-1995).

In summary, the hull does NOT tolerate a heavy engine.

If you look at the engine choices article, you will see the weights of the various 90 and 115 hp engines.

The Wide Open Throtte (WOT) speed for a 90hp is ~39 mph and for a 115 hp is ~43mph.

For weight and power I would suggest E-TEC 90 (320 lbs) or Yamaha 90 (366 lbs).

Installing the engine at the proper height and installing the appropriate prop for your typical load is critical for performance.

I had a Yamaha F115 and the stern was sensitive to passenger weight in the rear and would ship water when backing down. It was a great motor.

TNX Phil

Etech is not an option for me. Im using boat for about 10hours of driving in one week.

I was thinking about suzuki 115-140... But now when you told me that water is going inside im totaly confused =D
Suzuki is 410lbs heavy

Paky,

I have a Honda BF90D on my 1991 Outrage 17I. I'm very happy with it. Alone I can reach 40 MPH with ease but with 4 adults 36 MPH is probably realistic. I think the Suzuki 90 would be an exellent choice along with the Honda 90. They are the lightest 90 fourstrokes availible. Honda has a very good 5 year standard non declining warranty also.

Good luck,
Bob.

Thanks!!!! That is enouht for me. When doing so much hours on sea fuel consumption is very important and because of that i would like 90hp more than115-140

I have the new Suzuki df90a on my 17 Montauk. Only 10 hours with it but I like it a lot. Very quiet and good acceleration. Timing chain instead of timing belt is another advantage.
