Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: First time out this season!

Well, I know it's later than I usually take the boat out but this is going to be the first time for me this season. I have been too busy with other things unfortunately.

Today I hooked the boat up and started the main motor.

1. Squeezed oil primer bulb to make sure it was hard. It was...
2. Squeezed fuel primer bulb to make sure it was hard. It took a few squeezes...
3. Hooked up the ear muffs, turned the key on and hit the primer twice. Turned the key switch to start and the engine started right up.

Not bad for a long lay up since October...

I put in a new marine starting battery yesterday as it was time to replace the old one after 4 seasons of use.
Checked tire pressure on the trailer and added some air.
Greased Bearing Buddies on trailer.
Checked trailer lights. All lights worked.
Safety equipment always remains in the boat(s) so I know it is always there. Each boat always has its own set of safety gear. This way I am never surprised...

Looks like I am good to go.

This is going to be the first year I have had only one Whaler to take care of in a long time.
Feels like I am missing something... B)

Thanks Dan.....

I am back from vacation and we had a great time. The boat ran great and the fishing was good.

Couldn't find any Wi-Fi Internet connections so I was unable to visit the site and/or do any work...
I guess that what vacations are all about...

Here are a few photos of the trip and the cabin.
Upper Klamath Lake Vacation

Unfortunately, when I got home and after putting the boat back in the garage for a couple of days, the prop shaft seals started leaking... I ordered the new parts today... Always something...

Beautiful photos. Favorite one was of the geese, one landing. Website timed out the first time I tried it, but came up with Reload.

Visited Oregon ONCE, back in the '70s, and this ol' Longuyland boy felt like he'd come home after being away forever. Does Oregon do that to everyone?

Nice fish, too! Lure or bait?

and why does my signature have so much space underneath it?

edit 2: and now it doesn't! hmm! Looks like it goes away if I edit the post. Note my unedited post, further up.

Dan,

The signatures go directly under the body of the text.
If there isn't much text, then then the signature will be near the top and because of the avatar and the information on the left sidebar, the signature will have a lot of space beneath it....

The fish were hitting lures more than fly's this trip....
Although I love fly fishing, whatever works is my motto...
I would even use dynamite like Crocodile Dundee' if it was legal.... :p

My personal Internet Provider is having some problems and that is why some of my personal pages are timing out. I can't even get to my providers Home Page without problems sometimes.
Unfortunately, I have no other choice in providers... NONE.... I can either get my Internet connection through Sisqtel.net or I can choose not to have Internet at all.... I have no other choice unless I want to dial-up a long distance phone number.... There are some drawbacks living out in the sticks.....

duf, it's become apparent to me that there is a "Kriz level," and if you can approach it, you're doing good!

Joe, there's been a question I've been meaning to ask you. When I put the "jewelry" back on my old 17, I'm not sure how to set the D-rings on the transom. Flat side up or down? I looked at your photos, but couldn't find one that showed it clearly.

Dan,

As one spy said to the other, I could tell you but then I would have to eliminate you..... :o

Good Luck Dan, as we all know, "Whaler" searcher's don't give up the "HUNT" very easily (one track minds), how many of us have had notes left in our mail boxes with "Saw your "Whaler in the yard, is it for sale" ? How did they see it in the yard, tucked away for the winter, under a cover ? LOL, as I've stated before, one time the police were in my driveway when I arrived home, I was like "UH OH", then I was greeted with "Is this boat going up for sale anytime soon" by The officer. MY UPS guy tried the famous "Jedi mind trick" on me too, he has some nerve, that's OUR trick !

UPS guy:"That boat is too small for you"
MW: "What do you suggest I do" ?
UPS guy: "Sell it to me, and get a bigger boat"
MW "Ya know how "Pee Wee" loves his bicycle ? That's how I feel about my "Whaler"....forgetaboutit" !

I was able to sneak out quickly for a blast yesterday, I told mrs MW I was going out for a pack of eggs (I saw her mouth out with a frown "A pack of Egg's"), I took Jr with me for a quick blast, upon returning mrs MW said "Thats the 3rd time this week, we don't need any more egg's, make sure his vest is zippered next time you guy's go out for egg's"
mw

The "Little one" arrived Friday, I wish that my Dad had a "Boston Whaler" when I was a kid, (I offered every arguement as to why we should have one). This kid's gonna have a "BLAST" on this "Whaler", I already ordered the "WHALER KID" t-shirt ! Remember Dan, You are a NY'er, do the deal right, take out that HUGE WAD of cash and say "So what would you consider a serious offer for this boat", when the eyeball's "Lock onto the Cabbage", start the deal, "You know, we can zip this whole thing up right now" ! GOOD LUCK !

Thanks Dan,

I taught the wife how to make the movie clips but I think I created a monster.... Now she's bugging me to learn more which is taking a lot of time but she's getting the hang of it.

You can use the video tags which are like the [img].... [video]
