Kamie inspired me to look at the top I got with the Montauk.
I am missing a few ends and other fittings are tired. I took the end off one and it measures 3/4"...not 7/8".. The tubing is Aluminum and filled with foam??? The tube is really solid feeling, really cool. My question is has any other members replaced their tube ends? Is others tubing Alum/foam? I have done a quick search and didn't seem to see 3/4" tube fittings for tops?
Also the top is the flying top with forward shelter winshield and side curtains. It really nice shape, glass is clear, couple snaps need sewing, date said 1993! The way it sits inside the boat (83 Montauk) is fantastic!
Let me know what you all have done with your Mills tubing and frames. Also, I thought stainless was the norm, but this alum rig..small tube, light weight, but really solid!

Mills used 3/4" aluminum tubing on the smaller Whalers at least as late as 1988. They then switched over to 7/8" stailess steel at some point around then. It may be that the change over was different for different sized models as larger cavas pieces require greater support.
