Today we are really excited to say, we welcome a red 1989 Boston Whaler 15 Mischief to the fleet! Eric picked it up on eBay! This is the first official photos of the build project that is yet to be named. Concept drawings will be started tomorrow! I am truly excited for Eric, and if the previous projects he has shared are any indication, I am anticipating a spectacular custom project.

This is going to be a special project, as it will be Eric's personal boat. I am looking forward to being a part of it already! Please welcome Eric to WC as an official owner!

Wow, that thing needs some tlc. I read on here or CW that the red gelcoat didn't hold up so well for some reason. Anyway, a grossly oversized motor on a jack plate ought to make that thing a ton of fun. Good luck with it, I cant wait to see the finished product. Keep the pictures coming.

Hey Huck, Great observation, Its a beater but Eric is a magician. This is all I know, the RED is gone, he sent me this photo http://i1320.photobucket.com/albums/u...6763de.jpg and sent me a text message that said "Blue-ByYou"

So.... I will be drawing Shelby Cobra / Mischief Renderings later today I am sure.... I am just concerned however, that the little 70 yamaha is going by-by....and all he has in his shop is V-6's.

I replied, NOT YET, and sent him this picture:http://i1320.photobucket.com/albums/u...3999e3.jpg

So....I am officially on the hunt for a new motor for the little black boat, I have a lead on a one I hope to have back in the bay area in the next week or two. (shhh...it's a six, too)

At the very least its gonna be fun.

If it is not crazed beyond reason, you could try wet sanding a test area and see if it's worth salvaging. You would be amazed at the faded, chalkly gelcoat that can be brought back.

Pictures are hard to show the real condition.

Have fun with it!!!

Phil, even better, those pics are from the ebay auction, we have not even seen it in person, he is on his way to Ohio right now (from FL) to go get her, what I can't believe, is how cheap the auction went for...this one slipped under the radar for sure.

The eagle has landed. Eric has his boat home, and he happened to pic up a little Mercury Inline Six from Jax. That motor is gonna make one of these 15's scream. A quick heads up on a 1989 Yamaha 70 HP 2-Stroke, coming off of a low-hour 15 Mischief, potentially for sale (Tampa Bay, FL) send me a note if you are or may be interested.

Phil, you were right, amazingly, the red gel in the cockpit was flawless. Eric decided to err on the side of nostalgia, and stay with the red. The exterior of the hull needs new gel, it turned a faded shade of purple. Overall the boat is in excellent time capsule condition physically and mechanically. Eric will work on the shine.
