Hi to all of you,

I am writing from Italy and I have a 285 conquest model powered with twins 225 Verado four stroke model.

I had to do the first maitenance for my engines and I had to pay only for peaces like ;

- 12 Spark plugs NGK Platinum and Iridium
- 2 Fuill set Package of Anodes ( each package 8 peaces)
- 2 Oil Filter
- 2 Fuel/ Gas Filter
- 2 Water Pump Impeller

more than $1100,00 for each engine!!!!!!!!!

I think that this is too much for mu budgjet and i am sure that buying the same peaces in the states it would be chepear!

I have already written to some delear in the states to get a quotation, but I did not received any reply.

Therefore i kindly ask you:

do you know any responsable dealer???

I hope to hear you lots,

Regards
Ciao

Hello,

Boats.net is a large online discount dealer. I believe they sell merc parts and ship overseas.

Do you mean $1100. each in US currency? $1100 for both high

Lets ball park:
$400, $200 each Max for a water pump with labor
$60 for all spark plugs
$ 75 for 2 oil filters
$200 for fuel lines and filters (assume you have the water separator already)
$150 anodes both sets, can't imagine it being more (unless gold plated....)
$400 labor

$1285 total USD, even this is way high....:(

Any comments anyone?

Jon

You might ask this question on the Verado Owners Club site.

For a frame of reference:

I paid $665 USD for 10 hour service on my 2005 Yamaha F250, which is a sophisticated engine, and perhaps almost as sophisticated as the Verados you have.

Sal.

Guess what that Merc may be a yamaha... The Mrec 4 strokes used Yamaha power heads until last year. Not sure about the large Verodos. anyway 10 hour for 665 is 65 per hour... Normal charge. Our Italian friend may have been slightly over charged if he paid in USD...

you got taken advantage of ... - the first service on a verado is 100 hours and does not include water impellers or spark plugs - did you read your owner's manual? if you did, you would see those things are not part of the 100 hour service...and if you got a service before 100 hours, you really got a bad deal because it's not even required......

c'mon over:
