I am sorry to report that Tony (a.k.a elaelap) Wilde passed away. While an infrequent poster here, many WC members who visited
ContinuousWave knew him. Matt (Placerville) has a thread on the details over there.
I am at a loss for words.

Thanks for cross posting the sad news. Tony was a great guy, who really loved whalers, he will be missed.

Tony has come up and fished with me a couple of times in the past.
RIP Tony.

While I had never met Tony in person, we spoke several times at length a few years ago. I am disappointed that our schedules didn't allow us to get together to hang out, talk about fishing and enjoy a few Pale Ales down in Bodega Bay when I was out in Sonoma. He was a good man and will be missed.
My thoughts are with him and his family.

The world involving Whaler discussions and debates will never be the same without him.
I had some fun conversations with him from time to time and enjoyed his points of views.
My respect to Mrs Wilde for her personal loss.
