Hello:
I have read that in the early years Dick Fisher used the 4 stroke Homelite/Bearcat engines on his whalers. Did that include the original 13 footers like mine? My question is will the 55 hp Bearcat fit on my 13 foot whaler or is the engine too heavy for my notched 15" transom? If so what Whaler models were sold with the 55hp Bearcat outboards?
Thanks to anyone out there who can shed some light on this.

The 13 foot Whaler is rated for a maximum of 40 HP so no, Whaler never used or recommended the Bearcat 55 for it.

The Homelite/Bearcat 55 was only made in a 20" shaft length and the 13 foot Whaler only had a 15" transom back then so it wouldn't have worked anyway.

The Bearcat 55 was seen on all the 16'-7" models as well as the Outrage 21.
