In the bilge of my 2005 170 Montauk their is a hole were the rigging comes thru. How large is this cavity? The reason I ask is because sometimes when the water is in the bilge it will slosh into the hole and their seems to be no way to get it out

I can this weekend, The boat is in a indoor dry stack 60 miles from me. I'll try to describe it better. Looking at the stern its in the left hand side of the bilge thats on the deck, (not the engine well). If my memory serves me correct I think their are wires that come out of the hole to power the pump. I guess the hole is 2-3 inches in dia, about 2-3 inches from the bottom of the bilge. Here is a link to Whaler Parts. On the 1st page if you take close look at the bilge diagram you can see a small cut out. I'm just wondering how large this cavity is and how much water can sit in their?

I think your talking about the rigging tube that runs up to and under the console floor. Any water that gets in there should basically run back out into the bilge area.
