Anyone boat this area around West Point on the Hudson? This would be about a three hour ride for me. Any boat ramp or marina suggestions? Do you fish or just cruise around? Suggestions for overnighting in the area?

Hi Larry,
I've had my montauk on that stretch of the hudson for about 12 years now. It's very scenic around West Point and Bear Mt. The Newbugh waterfront is a great place to stop for food n drinks. There is also a nice ramp there, I think they charge to use it(maybe $10 or so). The stripers are running really good right now but that will stop in a few weeks. If you would like a fishing report check out the website www.riverbasinsports.com Not sure about lodging but there are transient slips available around Newburgh. My Home port is actually up river in Kingston(whish is also very nice) but sometimes I take the boat to work in Newburgh. Not cost effective but very fun. Let me know if I can help you with any more specifics.
