Mine only runs on two cyinders at low rpm. At 2000 or so it kicks in on all three. At high idle which I have to set high at 1500 to keep it running it drops the lower cylinder. Occasionally it pops and the cylinder fires. It has me stumped.
I don't want to start replacing parts that are ok. I have tried new plugs with no change and went through the carbs which were clean.
Thanks for any ideas.
Robert
p.s. hopefully there are still some 'rude mechanics still out there......

Mine did that last year. I blew the head gasket. It also didn't have the top end, but it seems fine at cruise. I pulled the spark plugs and wires and spun the motor over; One of the cylinder was spittin water out of it.

Findings on motor problems -
The carbs are fed through 1/4" fuel lines. The top carb fuel line had a pin hole, which is hard to detect when it is running poorly. Also, one of the linkage connectors, the small white plastic snap in connector, was split causing the center carb throttle plate to remain off seat. It was so small that you could not see it with the naked eye. I repaired those two causes and also installed a set of Boydson Reeds. The motor now purrs like a kitten. I hope this can help somebody that has an older 3 cylinder OMC.
