1981 15.3 Whaler.
Approximate total loaded weight 1200 lbs
Engine - 1981 Evinrude 70 hp, strong motor.
#1 cylinder- 144 lbs
#2 cylinder - 143 lbs
#3 cylinder - 143 lbs
Cobra planing fin
C & M 6" setback jack plate

Engine mounting height: anticavitation plate 3 1/4" above keel

Current prop: Solas, aluminum 15 x 13 3/4

Engine over revs and prop blows out on corner

Objectives:
To get WOT between 5000 - 6000 rpm
Good hole shot to get skier up.
Lower planing speed
To produce as flat a wake as possible between 28 - 32 mph
To avoid blow out on turns

Prop that I thought might work well for my objectives
Stilleto Advantage 1 15 (that would probably run like a 17?)

This Whaler is new to me but what I've read is the 15 likes air time which also would mean a flatter wake

Any help or recommendations are appreciated - especially Tom C's.

Robert

A 1981 Evinrude 70 has 5500 RPM redline and a 2.42:1 gear ratio. It will probably not be able to make us of a 13-1/4" x 15" Stiletto Advantage AND full throttle.

You'll want the 13-1/4"x 17" Advantage instead.
