Looking for a pair of bow lights. Any thoughts on where to go find them?

These are no longer made. Your best bet is EBAY. Though you better be willing to pay 250 - 400+ dollars.
Here is some reading

If your lights are like those in Article 2, linked above, I may be able to help you with lenses....but if the "innards" are shot, you may be out of luck.
My advice, if you still have the metal fixture, is to do everything in your power to find replacement lenses and "innards" that will work with the metal fixture. This may require using a little caulk, etc to keep it water tight...but would be worthwhile to keep the OEM look.
There are no other lamp fixtures out there that do the "Classic" Outrages any justice....some come close, but most fall short of the mark.
I was fortunate to find a pair of knock-offs when bin-diving in a marine-surplus store. Literally, every chandlery I go into now includes some time spent looking at nav lights for possible replacements...it's just simply on my checklist of things to continuously look for.
I'd also consider calling Whaler dealers around the country to see if they have any New Old Stock that they may be willing to unload.
Finally - boat graveyards...I wish I knew what OTHER boat company used these fixtures, because I'd be looking in every graveyard out there to find a set I could scavenge off a wreck.
I would guess that you could literally spend weeks picking the boneyards of the gulf coast and Florida for some of these....after the Hurricanes, there HAVE to be some sets out there somewhere...some surplus dealer just doesn't know what he's got.
Jeff is right - I know of ONE individual who has a pair that he bought as backups for his boats....and he paid $250 for them NEW in the box more than several years ago. I would guess that when he sells them, he'll be looking to get about $400...or more.
...and he'll get it.
Since we've established a Whaler Shopper Network...perhaps we should also establish a "hard to find OEM supplies" network. There have to be guys in Florida and the East Coast where there were a lot of these boats who have access to some of these parts off of wrecks, etc. Something to think about!

regents,
Look through the photos of these Outrage 18's in the Article section....
http://www.whalercentral.com/readarti...icle_id=21
Note that Gep has a 1981 with the early lights.
Also note that Matt Frymier has a 1981 with the later style lights.
It is probably safe to say that 1981 was the transition year and all the Outrages after that had the later style Wilcox Marinium bow lights.
When you are looking at these lights from now on, you will know the difference from the help of Jeff's photo links above. I have seen both versions for sale on eBay from time to time.
Here is an article on how to repair the later style Wilcox navigation lights used on Whalers just in case someone finds a set that is in need of repair.

Matt Frymier's 1981 Outrage had the early bow lights (originally). I am unclear if he replaced them but I have worked on that boat twice, for two different owners, in two different states and i remember the original bow lights being the earlier style while Russ Hubbard owned the boat.
I can confirm that my own 1983 Outrage 18 had the later style W/C bow lights.

Interesting.
My 1986 18' outrage had one of each, although I am not the original owner. One may have been replaced at some point in the 18 years of it's life before I owned it.

Dave,
It is so common for the bow lights to get crunched that I am sure your boat received a replacement at some point.
I have a pair of the later and more common style W/C Marinium bow lights in OK condition. I *might* be persuaded to part with them....
