Hi,
I was hoping someone might have some insight to help me. I recently lost my dock due to Storm Sandy which hit the New England area. As a result I was considering getting an aluminum dock that i can install and remove by myself. There are a number of them out there and I would really appreciate hearing what has worked or not worked for others! I would be using legs/piers rather than floating or wheeled due to the salt pond that I am on and I would take it in each winter.

Pierofdnort.com has some impressive videos but shipping to NE is prohibitive. They seem to have covered the web with their advertising

ShoreSideDocks.com - look good but I can't find anyone that seems to have installed them! No reviews or videos

PatriotDocks - look a bit more time consuming to install/remove and perhaps need a couple of people to install/remove.

Does any one have any suggestions or comments?

Thanks for your help!!

It's not aluminum and it's not cheap and it floats but check out Jet Dock http://www.jetdock.com. I have one of their drive-on docks for my 18 Outrage and so far it has survived a couple hurricanes and I leave it in the water all year around.

Thanks for the response! My dock needs to be fairly long to get to a reasonable depth so these would likely be a killer in $$. However I love the idea of getting the whaler out of the water!

thanks again

Try these folks. They are formerly Follansbee Dock Systems. I spent a lot of time talking to Marc when i was looking to build a floating dock for the whaler.

Dyers Docking Systems Northwood NH All aluminum. Stainless harware. Many configurations. Mine have been in and out annually since 1989 and style look great. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Shoremaster also makes nice docks. Removable decking on aluminum frames.

Check out the Hudson Valley NY Craigs list under boats. There was a guy on Greenwood lake selling 2 Aluminum docks a week or two ago. Not sure if they sold or will fit your needs but worth a phone call I suspect.
