I am the proud owner of a "new" 1972, 13' . . . sport or sourpuss ?
It has the center steering wheel, side rails, bow rail but no seat back rail. I have her flipped over and have a few holes prepped to repair using Tom Clark's method.

I am looking for some help on repairing the pull cleat (the doohickey that the trailer winch hooks to). Someone had jammed an eyebolt through the hull and had a few nuts on the deck holding it in place. These nuts put some stainless nuts on the threaded end and tightened. When the got pieces of hull glass two inches into the interior foam they stopped.

What is the proper set up for the pull cleat?

Thanks for the advice.

Tom,

Welcome Aboard WhalerCentral...

There are lots of photos of OEM parts in the Photo Galleries.
The parts you describe should look like these:

The stud are about the only difference due to different lengths...

PS... I'm heading for Upper Klamath Lake at the end of this month for a week...
Rocky Point.... Not too many of us from around this area....

Thanks Joe,

Do you know how to repair this area to keep the water out of the foam? All I have now is a gaping hole in the hull, a 1/2 inch hole through the foam, and a 1/2 inch hole in the deck.

Do you: 1) line the hole through the foam, or 2) glass in the gaping hole, leaving a 1/2 inch hole, caulk the heck out of it, and hope for the best?

I heard the fish were biting last week. Good luck.

Tom,

The stud or bolt that goes completely through the hull is 1/2 inch....
Then you would use 4200 to seal both ends of the studs so water won't get inside.

You never know about those fish at Klamath Lake. I will give you a report when I get back. :p
