Just wondering to all of you in the Boston, Massachusetts area (North Shore) Lynn to be exact can recommend a shop to put my BW to bed for the winter. I just bought the boat 1989 15' SS - 70 HP Yamaha and waking up this morning to 30 degree temperature, I think I need to schedule pretty soon. Many thanks!

There really isn't much to do and almost all of it is straight forward. Off the top of my head:

2 stroke or 4?

2 stroke:
Change the lower unit oil.
Check/replace spark plugs
Grease the fittings
If not already running stabilizer with your fuel, add it now for long term storage.
Spray fogging oil into the cylinders and turn over the motor a few times (not running)
Pull the prop, grease and reinstall
Change fuel filter cartridge.

4 stroke (add)
Change engine oil and filter
Change high pressure side fuel filter.

What a yard charges for this is ridiculous.

Phil's list is very complete. I'd only add... give some thought to bringing the battery(ies) inside and putting them on a minder / conditioner over the winter.

My Nantucket is tucked in up in Maine for the winter. The marine batteries are here on my bench with a minder I bought from Northern Tool for $39.95 that'll keep them fresh for spring.

I have just been winterizing my new to us 06 Dauntless 160..In addition to others posted, Ive also replaced my fuel filters adding some stabilizer to the new fuel/ water separator. Completely drained fuel tank and lines..as much as possible..as you know the fuel doesnt hold up well over time..
Damn, Ive got boating withdrawals ..!
