Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Starter on Mercury 40 HP 4 Stroke

The nut on top of my starter came off while cruising, when I stopped to fish starter wouldn't turn motor, does anyone know where I can order the parts on top of starter shaft, the gear that moves up is there and I have the spring, just not nut and other thicker washer.

Thanks for the help. For those with similar issue don't go to the merc dealer they can only sell you a whole starter for 270 I found just the parts for 75 at cromly marine out of Colorado.
