I just recently bought a 21ft I/O BW from the Lower Colorado River Authority in Texas.(this was a police boat?) I threw a Low ball bid on this boat and Got it !! Wow ! got it on the Water yesterday and the thing is incredible, Chevy 350 Mercuiser counter Rotating Stainless Steel Prop! I believe its a Ventura or Outrage 52MPH with 6 us in the boat, the Hull Number is BWCAH409D101 any help on identification would be appreciated. the boat only shows 935 hrs and Runs Great am very happy to have a Whaler !

Thanks for any input

Ventura or an Outrage?
That is a big difference.
Like a VW or a Corvette.

Can you tell which model it is from the photos we have in the "Whaler Models and Info" link on the left sidebar?

If I had to guess by his description Joe its a hybrid Ventura. There has been one floating around for sale with an I/O - I say hybrid because the bow rider area was actually a platform vs seats. It appears to have been made by the commercial products divsion. Hopefully ponders will chime back in and maybe share a picture of his new ride.

The only thing I can tell from the Vin number is that its a 2001 Model made by Boston Whaler Inc.

That would be a 2001 Sentry I/O 21' from the Commercial Products Division of Boston Whaler.

Thanks Joe any thoughts on the boat ? I'll tell you the thing was very impressive to me I'm not a real experienced Boat owner but having some experience with operation and ride of these boats Correct Craft, Century, and Chris Crafts, SeaRay , all Older 60's 70's 80's . I was very impressed with this boats handling of wind and fairly good White Caps, we never even got wet. 6 of us in the boat and still trimmed out at 52 mph :)

Yes, it is based on the recreational model which is the Ventura 21' with the dual windshield/console.

Here is an earlier model which was called the Dauntless Dual Console before they changed the name to the Ventura.

Well that's cool would like to add Bow Railing for safety for the grand Kids ! So A Ventura Railing will probably work with little if any mods hopefully anyway.

Thanks again

I have the original specification sheet on the 22 Sentry if you want it just send me an e-mail and I can e-mail it back to you. "jerry.carlin@sbcglobal.net" I am putting a 200 Yamaha outboard on mine this summer for use in Michigan
