This information seems slow to get to North America, but I found some specs on Suzuki's updated mid-size 4-strokes.
The quoted weight for the DF140A in 25" is now 407 lbs, though specifically excludes oil and the prop.
They're also claiming a 14% increase in fuel efficiency on the 140A at cruising rpm.
The full spec sheet can be found here:

As the quoted weight is higher on the 100 and 115, I suspect that perhaps the displacement has not actually changed on the 100 and 115.

The 100hp. may be the way to go to power the current 170 Montauk.

Where is the extra weight of the 100 and 115 coming from?
The DF100 would be a poor choice for the Montauk 170. At 400 pounds, it is very heavy and if you are going to overpower that hull (which is only rated for 90 HP) why not just put the lighter wight DF140 on it?

Sorry. Thought it was rated for 100hp. like the older, smaller, lighter Montauk.

I think Tom is getting at the fact there are many lighter engine choices for a Montauk.

Oh I understand. I was just thinking of the power side of it and if the current Montauk was rated for 100hp like my 1977 Montauk then a 100hp engine would settle some griping about wanting more power.

About 15 yeare ago my buddy had a monatuk 17 that was quite old at the time she was called bob and bob had a black max merk. I can't remimber the hp. of that engine right now it was a mid 70's . Ok this is what I had to say the black max was no dou't to much but bob unlike me seemed to like it plowing on an even keel at least when some of it was in the water.

Australian launch test of the updated Suzuki DF140A.

I confirmed with a Canadian dealer that this engine will be available here shortly. I suspect they will not update their website until the engine is actually in dealer showrooms.
The DF140(A) faces some stiff competition from the new E-tec 135 HO, especially if Evinrude is sharp on their pricing.

Yes, still not on their website yet.
None of those sizes with the "A" series yet.
