I have just bought a 1964 13 foot whaler. The eng. is 1994 40 hp johnson. The instalation job was short of profesional. I believe the shaft is to long do to water spraying up and into the back of the boat. I was curious if their was a product to raise the motor up to proper height, any sugestions on how to fix this problem and still keep this motor.

bigbass,
There is an engine bracket you can buy that will raise the engine up.
There are many different brands and inches of setback that you probably don't need.
I would suggest the least amount of setback and a bracket that will give you 5 inches of rise.
The model you have called for a 15 inch shaft engine and now you have a 20 inch (long) shaft engine. Maybe someone else here will recommend a specific brand.
Congratulations on your new to you Whaler.

Go to this site - http://www.cook-mfg.com/ click on vertical extension - go to the bottom and look at 5" vertical extension. I have seen these used on other 13's with good success. Its seems like a simple solution. Seems to sell for around $140.00 on the web.
