I have a 1985 Whaler with a 70 Yamaha. The tilt piston was leaking, so I tore it apart. I went to the local marine parts store who pulled up a page on boats.net, and did not show the dust/water seal for the piston. I am pretty sure that I have found the other parts needed to repair the leaking piston. Does anyone know the proper part number to replace the damaged dust/water seal on the tilt piston?
The number read:
70TLRU
6H3 L 488028
Any help is appreciated!

It does not show the parts... If you unscrew the piston cap on the Tilt Piston, there is a dust/water seal on the top, an O ring inside and a plastic bushing. Those parts are not listed of shown.

I just spent an hour looking, and those parts are not available seperately. The parts you need should be a lock ring, a scraper and a seal. The lockring and the scraper are reuseable, the seal should have a part number on it, take it to an industrial supply house and they should be able to get you a replacement. Thats what I did when I rebuilt the tilt cylinder on my merc.

My apologies for missing the boats.net reference in your initial post.
I would call or email SIM Yamaha. They are well respected on several forums.

If you need the "trim" seals it is parts 55, 56, 57 from this diagram:

If you need the "tilt" seals see my above post. The trim cylinder is the one with the small rod with the ball end, the tilt cylinder is the bigger one attached at both ends.

I believe I just found your parts, if you click on the "TILT PISTON SUB ASSY" it shows all the models it fits. If you scroll to the bottom of the list you see that the 2006 and Later 2-stroke 90TLR uses the same assembly, if you click on the link for the 2006 90TLR it brings up this page that shows the seals separately.

Thanks Tom, I was trying to figure out how to do that.
