I went and looked at a '77 Revenge today. Original 150hp inline-6 Merc, trailer, and canvasses. All-in-all not horrible shape, but would need serious buffing/bottom coat, new decals, wood refinishing, and the other usuals. The motor ran well and fired right up, although I wish it was repowered with something different. The guy was asking $8750. Is that bad? I'm not super familiar with Whalers; and sometime soon I'll be buying my first one. I'd actually prefer a center-console in the 18-22' range. What other choices come close to a Whaler as a used boat?
Thanks!

jwilkes,
What size was the Revenge? The price is not that bad if it is all in good shape just need some polishing. If an Outrage (center console) is really what you want you should spend some time looking at them before you decide whether on not the Revenge would fit your needs.

Thanks for the reply. The Revenge was a 21'. To me, the 'cabin' on that boat was barely enough to call it so, and I think I would rather have a c/c.
How are the Bayliner Trophy C/C's? I know...Bayliner..., but there is a nice looking one on Ebay right now, in northern Michigan. 1993 20' center console, 175 oil-injected Mercury-150 hours, and it looks pretty clean in the pictures-$6700.

I suggest you keep looking and get the center console. After one season, you'll wish you had. The Outrages are awesome....
