So should my Rage 14 have been able to idle half an hour at the dock without overheating and burning up the engine? Rage owners or BW pros help me out here! The MarineMax of Miami people say that it my BOAT's fault tha the engine is blown under their care, that they started it, could not get it to go into gear, and walked away from it and left it, sure.. but it overheated becuase it did not cool with water ( tha tit should have supplied to itself- hence no responsibility for them to replace engine. Even though THEy plugged holes, they seem not to fully understand much about these boats, (even though that was not stated when they took the boat in for service)AND they started it without it's lanyard turn on turn off key in place ( they lost it during the service) by admittedly "jerry rigging the starter, which they could then not turn off, so they just walked away and left it running, unsupervised. When I came back half an hour later my near perfect engine was fried dead, white smoke oil and water emerging!

And this fact keeps occurring to me as POSSIBLY significant, since the guy I bought it from had pointed out ONLY ONE HULL PLUG that I needed to be careful to insert before launch. Marine Max insisted on plugging all three on the bottom of the boat, maybe a GOOD thing, maybe not.
Does anyone know if those other two were NEEDED to be open maybe, for water maybe, to the engine when idling? They plugged the two screw thread holes, on port and starboard of the engine intake area, near stern of boat, on bottom which were both previously without plugs , non eprovided either unlike the main hul plug just left open. ( Are those, perhaps, maybe needing to be open- needed for water intake, perhaps ? Or as they asserted at the service dock ,just hull openings for venting in heat, or during storage, which, like the master hull plug which I knew about and knew to close, are they essential to PLUG for launch, to prevent water entry to hull ( I assumed they were correct, and am I just way way gullible?) So .. could it be this plugging ? Or is it a plugged intake for some other reason in some other area ( it was not blocked 7 days before when we ran it wide open in the shop with water)or could it more likely be suddenly falled pump? I just do not know enough about how the water or the cooling process works. But I am suspicious of marine Max's assertions.
Please can any other whaler owners with specific knowledge about this 14' hull, or any Rage owners, please help me out here? There was natch, no manual and little info on the internet about these lovely little jet boats. I am screwed if I do not get some expert info on this.
