Hi...need some advice and tap your knowledge base.

1. What is a number of good and bad compression on an outboard motor...going to buy ? a 25 whaler this weekend...the boat has 2 1989 yamahas

2. What is the cost of re building these motors ....ballpark....and will they be sorta like new????

3. If compression on these is bad....do they take trade in on motor like these....maybe by 1 larger motor and replace 2???? or is re build better idea

I was told by very nice seller these motor have been taken care of by his boatyard through the years...dry stored in winter....northern boat.....saltwater used.....thanks for the help

My best advice would be to have a mechanic of your choosing check them out before you buy.

BTW. What size (hp) are the engines?
