It has been a busy month, I completely redid the electrical on the whaler. The previous owner had 4 batteries in the stern of the boat under the gunnel, 3 on stbd, one on port. The boat is already stern heavy with the twin 115s on her. I bought 2 new group 24 batteries and installed them in the center console, ran #2 wire to the stbd engine, and ran #4 wire from the stbd to the port engine. The stern sits about an inch higher in the water now. I also installed a 30 watt solar panel on the top of the tuna tower to keep the batteries topped off.

I just ordered a teleflex NFB 4.2 safe-t II steering system to replace the 22 year old teleflex that is pretty sloppy. That will be next weeks project.

The salmon bite has been absolutely phenomenal here and we have been going out a few times a week. We have put a few hundred lbs of salmon, a few hundred lbs of rock cod, and a 25 and 30lb halibut in the freezer so far. It is amazing how fast the freezers get empty again when all your friends find out you have fresh fish :)
