So I have a 1963 Whaler 13. It has a Evinrude from 1985 that has some sort of tilt assist. There was a lever that you flip and move the motor up and down. The piece broke off and now I have not ability to tile the motor. Any ideas on how to convert the motor over to manual tilt or power tilt? It's a good motor and its the 15 inch shaft that is hard to find.

If you know your model number most of the parts are still available, why not just order the part and replace it?

If your local dealer can't help you, I'm sure this guy will have the part in stock.

One major problem I am having is identifing the year. The previous owner said it was a 1985 but when i called the parts guy he said he didn't think they offered the nitrogen assist until the early 90's. The tag with the serial number and model number is gone. Any ideas on how to figure out what year motor I have?
