Hi,
My first power boat. Engine has stainless prop and I was concerned given novice status that I should switch to alum prop for first year or two. I hope to not hit anything but in a tricky harbor and will 10 pot lobster in shallow rocky areas. Is it true that stainless are unforgiving in a hit to the gears or shaft? Boat seems to be in good condition, minor age related stuff. Any thoughts about the 2000 Ventura with a factory paired 90 hp Merc? I own it now....I had a new water pump, fuel filter and gas all changed out. Mechanic said he still didn't like how it was running so he boiled the carbs and says it's running great. Lets hope this continues. Putting it in the drink next week. Any recommendation about best places for Whaler parts; grommets, gaskets, etc...? Thanks
