For those of you out there, please weigh in. My question is how to keep the kicker stable, (not teetering and wobbling everyplace) when mounted on the transom in the UP position? I tryed a 30hp Honda, figured to be to big? It teetered on every bump small or big(mostly the kinda water I see). I want to present the security of a second engine. I have grown up with Lunds and single engines all my life, but now have a Boston Whaler 20' Guardian. Much heavier and not able to easily paddle home if need be (never have and hope to never have to). I fish the OPEN waters, if I break down will need the Coast Guard which is 800 miles from me.
Current set up is a 1985 Guardian - 2003 Mercury Optimax, would love to have twin 115s, tho not yet an option. Need a kicker (eh, trolling - but mostly for getting me to shore or home)

Is this kicker mounted and bolted directly on the transom?
Or do you have one of those knuckle busting adjustable brackets?
It should be mounted directly on the transom with no brackets.
See this article we have in the Article section on Kicker motors.
