Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: ideal kicker size

Hopefully this is the correct area of the site for this post.

I'm looking for some feedback from owners of 16' classic hulls who have kicker motors as to the general consensus as to an ideal size for security, as well as some trolling, on freshwater lakes typically traveled in these boats.

8hp seems to be popular and that is what I had on my Montauk which is now on my Outrage 18'....

I have to agree with Joe either a 8-9 hp range for your size boat. Just make sure you have the same fuel connection and your fuel is the same, and you can run off your large tank.
