Any ideas on what would be the best ss.prop to run on a 15ft. classic w/70hp. johnson. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

What year is your Johnson 70?

What is its WOT range?

What is its gear ratio?

What propeller do you use now? Brand, model, size and part #?

How fast does your boat go now with the propeller it has?

At what RPM do you see that top speed?

How high on the transom is the motor mounted? What set of bolt holes are you using now?

It's a 2000 year model, motor and 85 year hull, as for the rest of the questions i don't know, i recently purchased the boat and it is stored for the winter. Won't have it in the water till spring time. I bought it for my 13 year old son for x-mas, he has no clue yet. Going to replace the interior with all starboard this winter as a father/son project, would also like to install a transom mounted poling platform. We will be useing it alot down in the keys for fishing.

That is a lot of boat for a 13 year old. I hope he has some boating experience but you let him loose with this package - he is one lucky kid.
As your engine is a 2000 model year, it is the larger cube one at 56 cu in. You should be able to run with a 19 pitch or for all out speed, it will turn a 21 pitch

If it's a 2000 model then it has the 6000 RPM reline as opposed to the old 49.7 cu. in. model's 5500 RPM redline.

The gear ratio is 2.42:1 and if the boat is good for 44 MPH then I recommend a 13-1/4" x 19" Stiletto Advantage 4.25 or a 13-7/8" x 21" BRP Viper.

The motor should be moved all the way up on the transom to make best use of the Stiletto.

2 stroke or 4 stroke? If its the 2 stroke, the 19" stiletto is a good, mine is at 45@6000rpm.

Thanks for all the suggestions guy's. As for the motor it is a 2-stroke. The interior is not origional, the previous owner removed the mahogany and replaced it with teak which is in good shape. I will keep the teak stored after oiling it, but still going to do the entire inside with starboard. possibly will extend it rear of the rear bench seat all the way back to transom for a fishing platform and stashing the fuel tank and battery under that . Will cut and hinge it where the rear seat ends for easy access under added platform. Can't wait to get it to the house to start working on it.
